Project Organisation
The AGAVE project is organised in four technical
Work Packages (WPs 1-4), coordinated by a management Work Package
(WP0).
WP1, Parallel Internets Framework, is responsible
for laying down the principles, concepts and reference architecture
for realising the Parallel Internets and for enabling IP-based Internet
service provisioning from connectivity aspects adopting a clear
separation of business roles.
WP2, Connectivity Service Provisioning, is responsible
for specifying the interface to enable end-to-end connectivity service
provisioning and facilitate the deployment of IP-based services
over the Parallel Internets. WP2 undertakes the specification, design
and implementation of appropriate interface components. Testing
requirements for the validation of the approach will be specified
and fed to WP4. Based on advances of WP3 work, implementation experience
and experimental results, WP2 will validate its initial specifications
and derive enhancements as appropriate.
WP3, Parallel Internets Engineering, undertakes
the specification, design and implementation of appropriate mechanisms,
algorithms and protocols for realising the Network Planes and their
interconnection over the Internet, emphasising on mechanisms for
service differentiation through differentiated intra- and inter-domain
routing. The testing requirements for the Parallel Internets components
will be specified and fed to WP4. Based on implementation experience
and experimental results, WP2 will validate its initial specifications
and derive enhancements as appropriate.
WP4, Validation and Experimentation, undertakes
the experimentation activities of the project for assessing the
validity and cost-effectiveness of the proposed solutions. It involves
the setting-up of the required experimentation infrastructure, testbeds
and simulators, the specification of appropriate evaluation scenarios
and their execution.
